"Color pick from your palette, not your painting

Whenever you mix two colors, the resulting color will be less pure, so unless you are working with solid brushes without pressure sensitivity, your strokes will never present your selected color in its hundred percent opaque state. Considering this you will find that continueously color picking from within your painting will desaturate your colors more and more, until you are left with bland representations of your actual palette. I like to organize my palette around what I'm painting, so I can just blend new colors if I need to and add them to it, while making sure that the saturation is still intact. It might seem like a hassle, but trust me, it really makes a difference!"
